Continuing Education Units

The Cleveland Plumbing Industry Fund (CPI) was authorized by the Ohio Department of Commerce and the Board of Building Standards to conduct the 10-hour Plumbing Inspector Recertification classes for the Northeast Ohio area.

This class will be good for a 10-hour credit toward your Inspector Recertification.

It is a two-day class held twice a year in May and October.

The course will cover administering the OBC, code review and interpretation, inspector’s liability, safety, communication skills, physics of plumbing, planning and scheduling, and roundtable discussions. We have instructors from the State, the BBS and guest speakers.

The cost to register is $50 which includes, continental breakfasts and lunches. Registration will open one month before the class date and attendees will need to complete the registration form and return it with a check in order to attend.

Priority will be given to inspectors employed by municipalities and Health Departments in Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties.

Upon completion of this course, attendees will receive a certificate and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the Ohio Board of Building Standards or the Department of Commerce’s Plumbing Unit for (10 hours in BO, MPE, PPE, EPE, BI, FPI, MI, PI, RBO, RPE, RBI, RPI, NRIUI and RIUI. Also, six hours of CEUs will be offered for OCILB for only the first day of class.
